DNSBL Queries, Data Acquisition & Usage

Real Time DNS Queries for Your Server or Spam Assassin

Web Queries

•  You can check the status of any IP against mutiple DNSBLs (including ours) using our Multi-RBL check.

•  You can also query our database to check a range of IP addresses or data by country of origin.

Local Usage for Your Mail Server

Our block lists are updated in real time and formatted for RBLDNSD. RBLDNSD is a non-authoritative name server that was designed specifically for this task. It coexists with a caching or authoritative name server such as Bind. Our RBLDNSD how-to pages are here. You really need to read these first if you do not have a working knowledge of RBLDNSD.

There are two ways to obtain the data files.

•  Download all the list data in a tarball. — Updated Daily

•  Obtain the files using rsync.— Updated In Real Time

Please note that rsync access requires FREE registration:

Rsync is a file transfer protocol similar to FTP. The rsync remote-update protocol allows rsync to transfer just the differences between two sets of files across the network connection, using an efficient checksum-search algorithm. Rsync is very easy to use.

We recommend retrieving the lists every two to three hours. Please schedule your rsync jobs for odd minutes to relieve congestion. To improve rsync performance, zone files are now sorted hourly.

The lists can be downloaded or synchronized from the command line:

rsync -t tqmcube.com::spamlists/[spam] [dhcp] [prc] [ko]

For example, to get or sync the dynamic list:

rsync -t tqmcube.com::spamlists/dhcp
